ABOUT

I’m a writer, editor, and creative director specializing in brand storytelling, creative development, and cultural criticism. As the executive director of creative development at T Brand, the creative studio within New York Times Advertising, I lead three cross-functional creative teams which include the studio’s creative directors, editors, and multimedia producers. Together, we create advertising campaigns that are strategically grounded, editorially rigorous, and built to connect with audiences.

My role combines high-level creative leadership with hands-on execution. I guide and inspire interdisciplinary teams through concept development, pitch presentations, and campaign delivery, helping to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling work for the world’s leading brands. I’m also involved in brand voice development, media planning, and the creation of new formats, with a focus on innovative storytelling and emerging platforms.

As a journalist, I’ve written for publications including Pitchfork, SSENSE, GQ, Interview, The New York Times, and Vice, often exploring how art, identity, and place intersect. My editorial work spans criticism, profiles, and reported features, and tends to center artists and subcultures that operate outside traditional narratives. I’m especially interested in work that resists easy categorization and reflects the emotional, political, and social dynamics of its time.

I live in Los Angeles with my wife, two kids, and retired racing greyhound Fiesta “Hal” Jalisco.
